In North America it has been ski areas on the Westside that have seen the biggest accumulations, although not so much as in previous weeks this season. Unusually resorts in the southwest of the continent in southern Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico posted the biggest accumulations – with several reporting more than 40 inches (a metre) and one, Pajarito (190/190cm) in New Mexico 68 inches (1.7 metres).
