The annual Sechselauten is a kind of combination of Britain's Bonfire Night and America's Groundhog Day as a snowman is burned on a giant bonfire at the height of the festivities.

Snow Overview
Ski areas in California are publishing the total numbers for the record-breaking February snowfalls with some getting more than 7 metres of snow through the month. Seasons are being extended as a result. This week the snow is still falling but also reaching over much of the US with severe weather warnings currently in place in the Midwest and North East of the USA as cold and snow hits. It's dumping down in the Rockies too. Further north there's less snow in Canada. However, most of the country is getting some fresh, just not so much as south of the border.
